St. James by-the-Sea
Installation Begins in La Jolla
Two big semi-trucks arrived in La Jolla just in time for Choral Evensong on Sunday afternoon, June 5th. They were greeted by the Parish Choir and parishioners who will soon enjoy the beautiful new organ.

On Monday morning, about 25 parishioners and friends came to help unload the trucks. One by one, parts of the organ were carried inside. The tops of the pews were protected with foam for everything to be spread out. Everything was inside by Tuesday afternoon, and the trucks departed.
Meanwhile, the team from Parsons Pipe Organ Builders got to work right away. The floor frame was laid, and before long the largest 32' pipes of the Contrebasse were hoisted up in place. Before the end of the day, the first of the beautiful quarter-sawn white oak cases had been mounted in the chancel.
